Matthew has a big grin on face because he has just had his first paper accepted in the Journal of Surface Engineering and Interdisciplinary Material Science. His paper is based on a novel design of a simple system appropriately name the Dickinson Rotating Ring Contact Profiler to measure surface profiles on piston rings. Matthew is an lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences and doing his PhD on “Nanoengineering of Piston Rings for Race car Engines” with Prof Ahmed and Dr Renevier. Please join me in congratulating Matthew on his tremendous achievement.
